Residential real estate signs
Real estate signs offering property for sale, lease, or
rent are allowed on private property in any residential zoning district subject
to the owner's permission and the following limitations:
- A maximum of one sign not greater than six square feet for single family uses and twelve square feet for multi-family, to be removed within thirty days after the property is no longer available for sale, lease, or rent.
- A maximum of six open-house signs not exceeding five square feet in area each and not higher than thirty-six inches above the ground may be placed upon private property for purpose of providing direction to the property for sale or lease.
- Open house signs may be placed within the public right-of-way tree wells during the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, provided that the signs do not exceed five square feet in area and are not higher than thirty-six inches above the ground.
Upon request of any person and approval of the city council, temporary directional signs
not larger than four feet by four feet may be installed within the city and offsite of the
subject property at intervals of no more than one sign per one-half mile, and with a total
of not to exceed five signs per subject property.
Subject property for the purpose of this section means the property for which or to which the directional signs are directing the viewer.
A fee of twenty dollars per sign shall be charged, one-half of which shall be
refunded if the signs are removed when the period of authorization has expired. No
authority is granted by this section to place such signs upon public property. (Ord. No. 112, 1 to 3.)
